Cinetribe is proud to announce that The Same Deep Water As You is an official selection in the Long Island International Film Expo. The film will be shown Monday, July 12, 2010.

The film marks the directorial debut of Ronald Jarrett with Damani Baker as Director of Photography. It tells the story of Gwen, a former computer programmer who is now a stay at home mom, but who spends her free time catching email scammers.

With bloody consequences.

The script was co-written by Jarrett and Walker, long time collaborators and founders of Cinetribe, a non-profit that brings the art of filmmaking to public school children in the Northeast. They originally tackled the topic of 'scambaiting' after reading a true story of the same in the New York Times. Scambaiting takes on the millions of emails sent every day, promising riches and health and prosperity, but only delivering a waste of time and sometimes, a serious breach of privacy.
